Building a climate resilient coffee economy for Ethiopia (DFID,SCIP fund)
This project is implemented in partnership with the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and different partners in Ethiopia. The goal of the project is to provide a climate resilient coffee economy strategy for Ethiopia, based on a rigorous assessment of climate change on coffee production and wild coffee forests.
- the first Ethiopian coffee Atlas for coffee growing areas and wild coffee forests (‘coffee areas’) in Ethiopia are produced, based on satellite imagery, bioclimatic data, vegetation classification, ground-truthing, and stakeholder input.
- a detailed CC analysis for coffee growing areas and wild coffee forests (‘coffee areas’) and
- a climate resilient coffee economy strategy for Ethiopia are produced.
